Default Blocking MySpace with Netgear Router
I have a Netgear Wireless Router WPN824v2 and I was wondering how I would use it to block MySpace. I told it to block any domain with myspace in it, but according to the log, for some reason, it's not working:

I'm not that stupid, I meant the block isn't working. For some reason, it's allowing access.

I didn't thoroughly look through your log, but did you specify just myspace or myspace.com?

Also some of the log entry showed that the domain was block but some were allow, therefore I think you may have the valid timer set wrong.

Like I said, I didn't look through your log thoroughly. You might want to double check your time for when the policy applies.

I set it to always and I specified both. I also checked and MySpace is blocked on the computers, but people are finding a way around it.

Perhaps your users are using proxy servers to bypass site blocking.

Yea it does look like the router isn't doing it's job correctly. I wouldn't think they are using a proxy server but they can, but now since I look at that log more thoroughly, I can see it's in a period of 1 minute and I can see some of the myspace link being block and being allowed.

Maybe it's cached on their system, try clearing out the history on their browser using ccleaner. And check their proxy setting also.

Or you can take a look at my guide using ezProxy, I find this to be most effective and many of the users that follow it agree that it works very well. Here's a link
