Default best modem

my friend wants a modem, can someone recomend one, i use a billion it seems ok, but is there anything out there that is better.

he will have a 512/128 plan, if it makes a difference.

Typically, ISP's will send you a modem when you get the service...

But if not, is it going to be DSL, or cable?

As Ethereal already said, you ISP typically provides you with one.

That aside, Motorola SB5101s are very good and provide a lot of potential for future growth. They are compatible with DOCSIS CMTS networks.

yeh i know, but the modems they send are netcomm, and iv had 2 of them blow up, and my other friend always has trouble with his,

its a dsl connection, sorry i thought i had mentioned that.

thaks for your help ill have a look at that motorola
