Default Almost There With Rj45 Cross Over Networking

I previously posted:
"I now have my USB Network Card and driver installed on secondary comp (laptop), I have broadband set up on the primary computer fine. I have my RJ45 Cross Over cable connecting the 2 computers but now what do I do?"

i got a reply as follows:
"I don't know much about it, but I would try to help
Fill in your Ip's manually
for example
PC1:
IP: 192.168.1.10
Subnetmask:255.255.255.0
getway:192.168.1.11
PC2:
IP:192.168.1.11
Subnetmask: 255.255.255.0
getway: 192.168.1.10

If you go to your command prompt and give the command: ping 192.168.1.10 or 11
and you get a reply, you have a connection between the 2 computers."

My problem is now as follows:
"I have done that and tried it, now, the primary computer can connect to secondary comp fine by going in to network places, but the secondary computer cant acess the priamry computer. i have been to my network places but there is nothing in there, I tried adding one with the IP address but it refused.
Any more information that could solve this would be apreciated?"

Any help please...???
