Default Adhoc wireless only does 11Mbit

hello everyone!

my friend and i tried last night to connect through an adhoc wireless network and we managed to do it without any problems, except that the speed was 11Mbit.

both wireless cards support 802.11g standard so i don't understand why we couldn't connect with 54Mbit connection.

as soon as i set up my card to use only 802.11g it would disconnect and stay that way. when i set it back to use both 802.11b/g standards then the connection is established immediately, again on 11Mbit.

anyone knows what could the problem be?

computers were not one meter apart from each other so the distance is not a problem.

thanks in advance!

Check the speed setting in the router. If it is set to b or b and g, it tends to run at a lower speed. Set it to "G" Only.

Default

what do you mean by "in the router"?

we were connected directly (peer-2-peer) without any routers.
