Hello. I am trying to connect my laptop to wireless internet using an ad hoc network since i do not have a wireless router. I have windows xp.
I have a desktop computer connected to an adsl modem through a wired router and that desktop computer also contains a wireless adapter (the antenna).
I configured the desktop computer to send the internet to my laptop through the ad hoc by bridging my local area network (wired internet) with my wireless network. I figured this should work. However, It did not. I had no internet connectivity on my laptop though It said It was connected to my ad hoc. I also tried connecting my desktop the the adsl modem directly with no router, and enabling internet connection sharing on the desktop, but it did not work either.
I then connected it back to the router and went to cmd and typed ipconfig /all and this is the result:

I also tried releasing and renewing my ip and it renewed my ethernet but it would not renew my wireless, instead it said "an error has occoured, cannot contact DHCP server, request timed out"
Can anybody help me?
Thanks,
Chris.
