Unless you get a 2nd phone line, you cannot connect a 2nd DSL modem to the same phone line.

Default Internet modem issue

Definately would be easier to hook up a wireless internet router to your current dsl connection.

Because your ISP only assigns you one IP, so the signals would conflict and you would not have internet on either PC.

Both modem's would try to talk over eachother in the same frequency spectrum. 1 modem for DSL per line (I think you can get away with DSL and 56K on the same line)

You're right Chris. The 2 modems on the same line will have conflicting signals, and probably wouldnt be able to stay online.

Yes, you can put a 56K and a DSL modem on the same line, just the same as talking on the phone while using your DSL modem. The only thing here is that the DSL modem needs to make use of a dedicated line and splitter or use all those silly filters around the house, including the outlet for the 56K modem.

I run dedicated line splitters

I have tried 2x DSL modem's, I didnt think it would work. When one tried to sync, the other lost sync. Than none of them had sync.

So you'd rather pay for two monthly subscription plus second dsl modem then get a router for $40 and get it over with?
