| Connection wizard-
have to choose your connection
LAN or cable modem (Ethernet)
ADSL modem (PPP over Ethernet)
Dailup modem (PPP)
Direct cable between two computers (SLIP or PLIP)
and i dont know which to choose you i hope you can guild me throw this.

| OK are they all options you can select? Try selecting LAN or Cable Modem (Ethernet), because I believe that is the connection you have to the Linux machine. Once you've done this just see what happens next. Maybe try opening a web page, I don't think you should need to set up anything else. However I am not familiar with Xandros. |

| ok well i went and done thaat and set user to use then it detected my router eth0. Know its asking Connection Settings
Name Of Connection____________________
and DHCP host name (optinal)____________________

| So it asks you to type in those values? In Name of Connection just type Internet, I don't think it matters, and leave the DHCP host name blank. That's my best guess, I'm not entirely sure though. |

| well as we speak im know on my linux computer with internet thank you very much as i dont know what im doing with linux so thanks y im learning know. Can i ask you really quick are all distros like this to set-up your internet.

| Hey well done.
Most of them are pretty easy to set up if you use DHCP on your router, which you do. Did you have the same problem in Slackware? |

| yea and i had to configure it before i start and i messed it up to the point that it only showed 1/4 of the internet screenand nothing esle. I had a 2nd hdd so i mit put on that one ubuntu or gentoo or slack again. Im trying to learn before my summer break is over and then i have to go back to High-School  but its ok. I plan on learning something new this summer. And Its Linux.
