open office and abiword are really good. i would recommend open office.
hope this helps .. c ya!!

i was thinking of posting a new thread but i'll ask in this one itself.....since it is somewhat related to office suite. hope thats ok..
is there any software in Ubuntu 7 (fiesty) which is similar to Frontpage. I have used Frontpage and it is really convenient to create decent websites...so i was looking for a similar counterpart in Ubuntu.
thanks in advance!!

The OpenOffice Suite is pre-installed on Ubuntu, just launch it from the menu.

You can Try it out in windows First if you Like:

download: OpenOffice.org 2.2.1 Downloads

If you are a Linux newbie you might want to check out the open CD, it is a package of open source software available for windows, so you can try a veritry of software before you "dive in"

Welcome - TheOpenCD

hope this Helps,

Jake

Hope this Help
