horndude is on a distinguished road

Default

Once set up its just like using windows prettymuch, just doesnt crash often.

Basically its a version of unix which was made for mainframes long ago.Linux works on personal computers. Its a multiuser system meaning multiple people can use it at once unlike windows.

In many ways its very similar to what apple did when they created OS X which is based on freebsd, another linux variety.

The one very very neat thing is it can be setup to do almost anything, and even better its free to use and open source.
