Default What are thing a newbie should learn

What are thing a Newbie to linux should learn about. I have mine up and running know thanks to some help. I would just like to know what are thing i should know how to use or whatever i need to know and learn.

Umm...how to compile programs, and how files like /etc/fstab work.

Also, it would be smart to get a basic knowledge of the terminal and some useful commands.

I like the courses section on www.linux.org, work through the beginners section and you'll learn plenty to get started.

The first thing newbee has to learn - TO READ
There are lots of manuals, help files available withing distros and on-line.
Not all of them written on simple language, thought. So newbee has to learn to read. I started with Linux by myself, was messing around a lot, found my way around more or less. Then I bought a book Linux For Dummies. After some reading some manuals started to have more sence to me. I do not remember the author now. Then i got The Complete Reference To linux by R.Petersen. You have to find your own way, own guide line, IMHO.
