heya been a windows guy for a while and i have an old laptop chilling here, built for windows 98! so i cant really do anything crazy fantastic and the guy i got it from wanted to trash it but i took it and want to put linux on it. will any version work? do i need a mobile version ? and i jsut wanna try a new free option to microsoft no real purpose to this comp .. but if i do put linux in it and like it i will use it as a limewire laptop if possible. thanks , TYYK

This is the distro I use and recommend, Why because it works right out of the box. No need to configure Everything, everything just works. It also comes as a 1 CD install that is a live CD that you can install later if you wish.

well i dont know off hand but i know its a p3 i think its got 128 maybe 256 mb ram ... built to run 98 it was manufactured in 99 its a compaq ..... so ..... yeah ... is DSL gui? i couldnt tell i just glanced.. ima check later........ thanks, TYYK
