Default What do yu recomend

I am looking at installing some form of Linux on the same PC that I have XP currently on. I am going to reformat my harddrive and do a clean install of XP as well as some version of linux.

I am looking for any suggestions about what version to use and any tid bits to help with problems that might arise from installing things a certain way.

I don't need to do anything special I just want something to play with so I can learn the OS.

Thanks,
Moody

www.distrowatch.com will give you a good idea.

Right now im running CDLinux, which sadly has no GUI. Still, it gives you an idea of linux.

I've gotten to something that translates what I type into hexadecimal.. that's all i can do as of far.
