Default Want to setup a FreeBSD File Server

I have another old PC that I want to setup as as FreeBSD 4.9 file server. That old PC has Win98 on it currently.

The PC that Im using right now is running WinXP-Pro. Please help me on this. Im a newbie in regards to Unix.

Second question -

For the FreeBSD server, should I use my AVG 6.0 Free edition antivirus software or I heard NOD32 is quite good, but you have to pay for updates. I hate that. So what is recommended for this type of FreeBSD 4.9 Server???

This as been a long time thought for me.

thx
