Default virus scanner

Hi I need a virus scanner that'll scan my windows partitions but works ubder linux while doing this. if anyone has any ideas, please tell me thx.

Ummm...I really don't know of any Linux virus scanners, since it is an example of protection by obscurity...nobody writes malwire for Linux.

Try starting Windows in safe mode and running your virus scanner.

yeah well the problem is I cant get windows to boot AT ALL...so i need something to scan windows w/o requiring windows to be running.

Ummm...could be a bootloader problem; that's the only thing I can think of right now. Might be a good idea to post a thread in the Windows section

F-Prot has a Linux version, but I don't know if it will scan Windows binaries from Linux. What you could do is take your hard drive and stick it in another machine with Windows anti-virus software on it. Then you can scan it without executing any of the files on it.

Their is also bitdefender, clamav, and a few others.

I tried compiling clamav but it *****ed at me that i wasn't using the right GCC compiler. How do I compile it correctly?

Just cd into the folder, ./configure, make, and as root, make install.
I didn't compile it, I just installed the package. It may be different.

just delete ur Windoze partition and never usie it again. Just use VMware cos it pwnz. And bill gates is a stooge.
