when I boot up my pc I get to this option that tells me if I want to pick Linux, failsafe or windows...

Is there a way to de-activate this so it goes straight to Windows ?

Yes, but you need to access Linux to fix it...

What did you do so wrong, or do you just not like it?

Well you can put in basicly any OS boot CD and you will get an option to format, that is basicly how you "uninstall" an OS

If you delete the partition, it should go away. Then you will want to format the partition again in something that Windows can use (or it might all go back to windows, I can't remember).

Boot to the console on the Windows XP CD and type "fixmbr" and it'll go away.

If you download window washer from webroot, there is a an option that it gives you to create an "erase boot disk" and you can use that disk to wipe your whole entire hard drive absolutely clean.
