hi, im wondering why Ubuntu wont Install on my Windows PC i ordered the PC CD's and wont work.. i click start or install ubuntu and when i click it my PC Restarts on its own and i end up back on the Ubuntu menu ??.. it kept doing it and i have no idea what to do.. the make/spec of my pc is:

HP Pavilion A608UK
Intel Celeron D 2.53GHz
Nvidia GeForce FX5200 128MB
Kingston 1GB DDR Ram
Seagate 40GB HDD
480W PSU

Which version of Ubuntu is this? Is it 6.10? If not, download the disk image from www.ubuntu.com and burn it. Try that.

If it is 6.10, then I don't know what to tell you. You could try the alternate install disc, which doesn't load the live CD and have a graphical installer, but it gets the job done. That disk image can be found here:

I certainly hope you didn't pay for those discs, as Ubuntu ships them for free. It takes so long, though, that usually you get the old version.
