ubuntu ultimate nvidia drivers

hey guys,
i have ubuntu ultimate and i have geforce fx5500 graphics card. the problem is that it wont accept drivers for my card. i tried downloading it from the net, it will download it from the net but wont install.
p.s. i tried using that "restricted drivers" thing but still the same result.

any suggestions??? thanks in advance....c ya!!

If the Restricted driver wont work then you have to wait for nVidia to update their Linux Drivers. If you are lucky someone over at Ubuntu Forums had a work around for it.

Try to use EnvyNG to install the drivers. It is on the repositories. It will install the latest drivers for your card.
