Default Ubuntu screen resolution problem

I just installed ubuntu and the resolution is stuck at 800x600. I installed nvidia linux driver 177 rebooted, it was working and then "input not supported" popped up but I could still hear ubuntu starting up. I dont know how I got it going again but im on the desktop and the resolution is stuck on 800x600. I uninstalled the drivers and now im wondering if there is any way to install the drivers and not get that message. Im on a xfx 630i mobo and im using the on board card 7150. Im using an acer 19"

Default Re: Ubuntu screen resolution problem

Navigate to your etc/x11 folder and paste the contents of your xorg.conf file. The native screen resolution may not be in there, it may need to be added. I had that same issue with Debian Etch.
