Default ubuntu and f@h

There is a d/l for linux systems, and I know that you need some sort of packet or client to install most programs in Linux. What do I need to install f@h on my linux pc?

Thanks,
Lance

Download the Folding at Home Linux client, navigate to the directory where it is, and in the terminal then type "./[name]"

The client doesn't need to be installed, you can just run it like I mentioned above. As for installing other programs, that will depend on your distro. Most likely it will just be a matter of typing 'apt-get install [program]' or something similar into the terminal. Which distro are you using?

Maybe you mean packages?

Packages make programs easier to install. Instead of building the program from source you can just install the .deb package (or .rpm, etc) for that program, if it's available.

You can use one of the methods here, one installs in home, the other in /opt and requires root privileges.
