Question Ubuntu Beginner... help

Take a look at this screenshot of the UBUNTU installation:
http://apcmag.com/system/files/image...07.preview.jpg

I am wondering, "New partition size:" <---- is this the partition size for Windows XP (which ever OS is already on the HD?).

I currently have Windows XP Pro on this computer but I want to Dual boot Ubuntu. I want MORE space for Windows XP Pro and about 50GB for Ubuntu. I have a 500GB HD, so how would I set the "New partition size:" for this??

So would it read "90%(10 GB)"?? OR would it read "10%(10 GB)".

I think the 90% is correct, can someone confirm this?

New Partition Size is the size of the new Ubuntu partition. I don't recommend using this. I'd cancel installation, open GParted (System -> Administration -> Partition Editor), click your Windows partition, and do Resize, then make it smaller. After applying, go to Install and select Use Largest Contiguous Free Space. Also, make sure you're using Ubuntu 7.10 (that looks like it may be an old version screenshot).
