I just got ubuntu 8.10 running and i've made it as far as step five in this tutorial:
Install FTP

When I open terminal, i type,
sudo apt-get install proftpd

I get some thing along the lines of
E: Couldn't find package proftpd

does this mean I need to do some thing else? If the program isn't there where do I get it?

You might not have the repositories to install it.

Thanks Mak, after reading and some installing I got the files installed, running some updates but, I think I installed the program incorrectly. Thanks for the nod in the right direction.
