I agree with jnev in saying that apt-get is a life saver. Does Kubuntu let you set a root password on install unlike Ubuntu?
i don't think so, but it's **** easy to enable root.. and i don't quite understand the rational behind not allowing root :|

Snake-Eyes: try burning it at a lower speed? (16X is a good one)

try to insert any other bootable cd to see if you actually can boot from cdrom?

other than that, if your doing everything right, i don't see why you can't run it..

I can't seem to find the speed setting? I'm using Nero Burning Rom, it's a year or two old. It just says "burn" then goes straight to burning, no speed selection at all.

mmm.. i'm not sure, i just reinstalled my family computer, i don't have time to reinstall nero yet.. but in 6 is seems pretty easy..

i'll try it out tonight and get back to you
