Default subfs?

A friend gave me a double sided data DVD to copy, but nothing seems to recognize the file format. I popped it in in Linux, and mount told me that the file format was subfs. However, I can't find much info about it or any good tools (for the 2.6 kernel) to use to read it.

Can any shed some light on this for me?

TIA.

macdude425,

subfs: Submount is a system for automatically mounting and unmounting removable media drives like cdroms and floppy disk drives. It works with the Linux 2.6 kernel series. A backport to the 2.4 kernel series is available now as well. Once installed, it allows removable media drives to be accessed as if they were permanently mounted.

Which Distro are you using? subfs is included in the SUSE, RH9, RH enterprise LinuxFedora Core 1, RedHat Enterprise Linux 3, Mandrake 9.2, Redhat 9, Slackware 9.1, Debian Sarge
SuSE 9 and gentoo packages. To install subfs you can follow the link bellow, it gives you the code to install it:

http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_Submount

You can find out More about it here:

http://submount.sourceforge.net/ (READ THIS FIRST)

you can D/L it directly from the link below

http://sourceforge.net/project/showf...group_id=81174

Hope this Helps,

Jake
