Starting GUI in Solaris 10
Im not sure how to go about doing this - I assume it is CDE,but I dont know how to start it up.
:/
I'm planning on using my solaris partition for coding and I'd like to have a gui to work in :]

I believe startx should do it, but the system I'm on is pretty strange, may be wrong.

startx is what it is in Slackware. That would be my best guess too. It's not really starting a GUI, it's starting the X Window program, or X11.

Maybe you need to do a Google search. That's where I would start. Also, see if there is some sort of manual for Solaris on the internet somewhere.

Now that I think about it, I don't think I've ever launched the GUI on SunOS. Every time I've sat down at a machine the techs have already been there to configure it and boot up straight to the GUI.
