Thumbs up Re: Solaris 10

I have now been using Solaris 10 for 9 days, and may I say it really does live up to its slogan of
Quote:
The most advance operating system in the world.
A few points

Pros:
>It uses the same terminal commands
>It works on nearly every architecture > So far basically linux
>For security, you can use Solaris Trusted Extensions. It is basically extensions developed by government, bank, and other institutions.

Cons:
>Same as Linux, compatibility is not that of windows, but it is a little better.

Overall:
>A great operating system I would recommend to anyone. Yes, it does sound like Linux...

Why are you calling it Unix? Isn't it Unix-based?
I have heard that some of the things that are implemented in Solaris aren't completely free software. =(
Also, have you used Slackware? If so, then how is Solaris different? Slackware is said to be the most Unix-like distribution for Linux.
