| Ultra Techie | I use Gutsy. I bought a new optical mouse at the expo center 2 nights ago. It's a typical usb mouse, real basic. It was originally 16.99 and it was marked down to 5 bucks at the expo center, so I grabbed it. Works great, love it, blah blah. But I noticed... my GSM phone (ATT) will make my speakers buzz every so often, telling me that it's doing some sort of a reception rescan. Once my speakers buzz, if my phone is right near the mouse, the mouse's click features will suddenly be void. When I click, it doesn't act accordingly. However, I can move the mouse around freely. If I unplug the mouse and plug it back in, it works great. I don't need to log out, reboot, or anything like that. What in the world? edit - my mom got the same mouse, she uses XP. I use Gutsy Linux. I'm not sure if it's an OS dependent thing or not. This is too weird... I figured I'd post it in the Linux section since it's the OS I use and perhaps that had something to do with it... that maybe it disrupts the signal going back to the tower and the OS doesn't know what to do with it, or something? I've just never seen anything like this. Last edited by Jayce; 04-06-2008 at 04:12 PM. |
