Default shared drive for linux/other OSes

I'm about to set up my computer as a triple boot system: WinXPpro, Mandriva Linux & Solaris. I want to set up a fourth partition to share between all the OSes.

How should I format the shared partition?

FAT32. It is the format that all of the OSs will have the easiest time reading from and writing to.

I'll try that. BTW, I've decided to go with SuSe instead of Mandriva (my personal support base has more experience with that. ) Will that make a difference? Also, from which OS should I format the shared drive?

Nope, it won't make a difference. And it will be easiest to format the drive in Windows.
