how is debian, I am now going to install Linux on my server. What version should I use is debian that much better than fedora? From what I hear in this thread it doesn't matter what distro you use.

Debian is OK, I personally prefer Red Hat 9.0 it has everything that is needed. I have been running it as a web server with no problems. Last time I checked the uptime was 234 days + . Ive never had a windows box stay up that long. The distro you use is a personal preference. I think debian's package manager is a little different. I have fedora core 2 as a dual boot on one of my windows boxes, I'm not real impressed with it, but some of my co workers swear by it. So just pick one learn it and learn to love it.

fedora core 3 has an update utility that even updates the kernel to the current one. Fedora is better than mandrake and is a great disto. I'll stick with it.
