Default Run through on installing Kaffeine...

I need to install Kaffeine on my computer (Slackware 10.2) because I cannot view anything online anymore. I need to view movies and streamed content as well as hear it. I messed xine up and it doesn't work anymore, not only that it's a horribly annoying interface.

So, Kaffeine or anything similar that I can use to stream videos and music online as well as a run through on installing it would be helpful

I would prefer to have a pre compiled Slack package so I could just
Quote:
sh -i
the file and not have to worry about comiling and all of that.

http://www.linuxpackages.net

see if they have a binary, if so, as root do :
installpkg kaffeine-whatver-its-called

if you want to fix xine depending on what you did to it, use pkgtool to uninstall it, then reinstall it

Ah, many thanks

Is there a way I can exchange Kaffeine for xine in Firefox? It still wants to use Xine...

never tried, check the plugins, may have to goto mozilla.org and see firefox docs to figure it out

may be able to edit the config file, should be in $HOME/.firefox somewhere, dunno if you can do it that way or not
