have no clue, whats the mepis website look like?

Ive never had this problem, the distro I use(slackware) has a website with complete sources and pkgs for everything theyve done going back about 4 or 5 versions, plus a couple slackware package sites with ready to go packages of everythign else.

Im assuming mepis is debian based, so debian packages should work I would think.

might want to go here and poke around too, not sure if they have a mepis forum subsection or not: http://www.linuxquestions.org

ok i fixed the reolution problem. i had to go into XF86Config-4 and and change all of the lines that said 1024x768 to say 1280x1024. everything works good now. i still haven't gotten the nvidia driver installed, however.

ok, i have a problem. i have the nvidia driver downloaded and installed (verified by apt-get and synapic package manager), but several game srefuse to run. when i tried to play bzflag it stayed loading for maybe a minute and then just quit loading. when i typed bzflag into konsole this is what it gave me:

Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0".
Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0".
Could not set Video Mode: Couldn't find matching GLX visual.
Error creating window - Exiting

what's wrong??
thanks

you have to edit the xorgconf file to reflect the new nvidia driver

I dont think you should have used anything but the old fashioned way of getting that nvidia driver installed, you'll know soon

not sure what needs changed in the xorgconf file, its been quite awhile since I installed mine, but I believe its in the README docs with the driver, see nvidia's website, they might have it available

Best way to install that driver is to download it, switch to console mode, install it, following the directions explicitly, and then edit the xorgconf file as instructed by the nvidia driver install program

I know of no other way that works 100%

If I recall correctly, you have to change a line where the driver is "nv" to nvidia, and change the line pertaining to glx making sure it says "glx"

you might be able to just change those and see what happens
