Default removing grub

i would like to know if there is a way of getting rid of grub or being able to boot straight into xp without selection and when wanting to go into linux (ubuntu) to just select boot from other hard drive.

i have 2 hard drives in currently linux is on the other one. I tried removing grub but then a few days later i tried going into linux and it said it was corrupted. all i did was restore the mbr?

Boot off your XP CD, and get into the recovery console. Run fixboot and fixmbr, then exit and restart. Everything should be fixed.
