Default Redhat troubles

Hey I just built a new pc and I put redhat on there and it loads fine. But when Its in the os the mouse cursor is invisible I connot see it and it hangs on shutdown. Any sugesstions?

Red Hat was done a long time ago, like 3 years ago.

Along the lines of Debian, you can't go wrong with Ubuntu.
