I'm running Ubuntu 8.1 on Vmware. Everything is really fast. Like, key repeat speed is astronomical... it takes a lot of effort to type one word, because every time I tap a key it's like aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Well, I half-solved that problem by disabling key repeat (xset r off), however, everything else is still hyper-speed. Like, the clock and such.
I believe the problem is because I had messed with Ubuntu a while ago but deleted it, and apparently somehow Vmware saved my CPU clockspeed then and now it is slower (haven't re-oc'ed since I got my new PSU yet) so now it thinks it is at that speed. There is an easy fix, but I can't make it work.
The fix...
It says if /etc/vmware/config doesn't exist then to create a plain text file. Well, how do I do that? I'm horrible at bash. I'm getting permission denied when I try this:
sudo cat > /etc/vmware/config
Is that wrong? How do I make that text file?
