Default PPPoE

I have Verizon as my Internet Service Provider.
Its one of the DSL modem connections.
Well, I wanted to connect to my ISP through Mandrake Linux
but I tryed downloading various PPPoE dialer but it only gives me options to type in a phone #.
I've tried doing KPPP but Verizon is not on the list.
I've called verizon and as I guessed the answer was we do not know how to work with Linux.
So what I've got from them was
Primary DNS server and Secondary DNS server

I've heard from some one that it is much easier to do this is Red Hat

Is this true?
If not Im just going to stick with Mandrake.
any solutions?

Default

Doesn't your DSL modem have an IP address -
use that as your gateway --- look in the instructions that you got and there should be different instructions for MACs --- put the same numbers in for your linux box and you should be good 2 go..

the dsl modem should take care of the pppoe connection for you...
unless you have it setup in bridge mode...
What is the model of the DSL modem?
