Default pls help to install display and ethernet driver

When i installed linux advansed server 2.1 in my office i couldnt get the graphical interface as the display driver and ethernet has not installed, pls help to install the drivers in the command line...

what kind of ethernet card do you have?

what kind of network is it?

need more details

the abovementioned 'xorgconfig' or 'xf86config' will take care of your displayproblems, just pick your card.

as far as the ethernet card, you probably don't have support for your card compiled into the kernel. i recommend doing a google search for a good kernel compiling guide and going from there. also, KDE and gnome have good tools built in to change options in your kernel.

chances are very good his card has already been detected,and possibly even has the kernel module for it loaded, no recompile needed unless its something really weird

yeah, i was just going by his "not installed" line of reasoning. but yeah perhaps the network's just not configured properly.

the pc which i installed is a hpmachine of 810chipset onboard graphic/ethernet onboard, after installation when booting it should show the diplay driver/ethernet detected line command, isnt it?. but is not shown and i m not able to get the graphical menu?. if i download the installtion file pls can u help toi install the same in the ccommand line and guide be which folder is the installtion of drivers intented to...im sorry im not good in linux and unix....pls help asap

Ok now this may not work but it might be a simple resolution if it does work.

type

dhclient

into your console, then ifconfig, paste the results of ifconfig on here.
