Default openSUSE 10.1 tweaks

I'm testing openSUSE 10.1 out at the moment and I came across a nice guide on how to complete your SUSE as an entertainment box.

Hacking SUSE Linux 10.1

When you're done installing SUSE Linux 10.1 OSS, your desktop system is not complete. You might still need support for Java programs, Adobe Flash animations, PDFs, and RealPlayer and Windows Media Video files. You may also want to add support for playing DVD videos on your computer, and to try out the new XGL graphical toys. Here's how to effectively make SUSE Linux 10.1 into the perfect desktop OS.
Check it out here http://www.thejemreport.com/mambo/content/view/254

You just need to know at the step where it says "Click the Add button, then click on HTTP in the popup menu. Add the following Internet address to the Server Name field and then click on OK: packman.unixheads.com/suse/10.1" The server is down and so is most of the mirrors, solution to this is to use ftp:\\packman.unixheads.com/suse/10.1 as the installation source.

After the experience I had with it yesterday, I DO NOT think I'll be reading that...

Was murder to set up, slow, reads like a Windows installer spewing how great it is, and I just don't like the way it looks.

Oh, and YaST=buggy. Very buggy.

i'd have to agree with ya there. YaST is definitely not a favorite of mine...veryy slow for me. i did finally get it set up, but it took much longer than i expected. i'm using mine for a server, so i don't have to mess with it much after i get it going, so that's a plus for me
