hey.. i have been on l inux for 2 days.. finally got it to work with my gay internet!

anyhow.. now that im online i have a problem i want to update fx.. and i can't. i downloaded the linux update of fx and tried to install.. it says permision denied. I tried on root and i have permission denied!

what do i do..?

the next issue: i try to install updates it downloads gos to test and freezes any ideas?

You have to change the permissions on the file to make it exectuable...chmod +x should do it, but I'm not quite sure for that file.

As for the updates, what kind? apt-get update or something else?

and.. just typing that in wont give me file permission would it? i'd need the path too i think?

you need to be root to change permissions

su
enter password (it WONT show up when you type it)
