Well I'm no Linux expert at all, but since the SuSE live CD loads itself entirely into RAM, it would act differently to a hard-install to your drive. Obviously the initial loader/installer for FC3 will load itself to RAM, but maybe the problem occurs when it begins to access the hard drive. It's just a guess, but it could be possible. I'm presume that you're no n00b; well, not with a set-up like that anyway (that's one good set-up by the way!)... But, have you checked that the HDD is configured properly in the BIOS? Sometimes with settings set to
Auto, things can get confused and are unable to work. If you make sure that your drive is configured head for head, cylinder for cylinder, etc then operations enquiring drive specifications from the BIOS will be able to obtain them both quicker and more accurately.
