I will dual boot with Windows XP!

Are there any pros using Linux over Windows?

Also is it possable to run MSN on it, I'm sure thiers a client for it ... hey if you can run Xbox games on it ... why not MSN? (I heard about the Xbox bit in a mag)
a lot of games will run on linux but its best to use windows for gaming because linux uses open gl and windows uses direct 3d, and d3d has better t&l support etc...

Even though you'll most likely get biased answers () I'll send this to the linux nerds

The main pro of Linux is it's stable and flexible, which makes it a plus for server usage. For the average home user though, Windows is still the better simply because you have to tweak Linux a lot in order to get it to run properly and windows will have better plug and play support.

To reply to an earlier post, Tux is the name of the Linux penguin. As for Fedora, most people here know how I feel about it: nauseous.

It may or may not suck, but its pretty easy to use.

I don't care about any of that stuff anyway since I run my *nix box over SSH in the first place.

Aubery,

I'd Reccomend Ubuntu nice and Easy for NOOBS with nice And Simple GUI, yes you should be able to dual Boot XP with it.

I'd reccomend trying the Live Version First, you can D/L it here:

http://www.ubuntulinux.org/download/

Once youv'e mastered that, come back and we can talk about Slackware

Hope this Helps,

Jake
