Default network printer

I have a printer on my XP machine which works fine. I want to set it up so I can share it on my fedora core 5 machine. I went through KDE control module, installed printer found my printer and correct driver and I hit test page, my printer had movement so I know there is communication, but nothing printed. I can even see the test print in my XP print queue that houses the printer. The printer itself is just blinking.

Any ideas why or what else I should do?

Sounds like a problem with your printer or the XP machine, if samba is sending the print, there is nothing more it can do.

How can it be a problem with my printer if I can print something off my XP machine without issue?

Perhaps your share settings are messed up? I don't know.

might be a permissions issue, Ive never used a windows box as a print server though, always done it the other way

if its sending it to the que or print spooler but it wont print, windows must be stopping it for some reason, and its probably a permissions issue

...beat me to it. Only example I've ever seen this happen in, a quick install of Services for Unix fixed it. Don't know why, but worth a shot.

ive seen windows act pretty flaky over some networking issues, recognizing shared drives or resources is one of them, even sometimes amongst other windows boxes
