Default Netgear HEAD TO HEAD with Linux (Linux won't get internet wi-fi with Netgear)

I have notice on Linux (ubuntu 7.04 feisty fawn) that it can't get internet to all of the programs. It can only get internet with Aim (under Gaim/Pidgin) and IRC. No internet with firefox, msn and yahoo (also under Pidgin). I do not know what to do. My computer with the linux partition also has windows with a dual boot setup. The windows and linux partition shares the same IP. But Windows can get internet with any programs. Side note, I can get internet with Ubuntu on different router just not Netgear,

Has anyone notice the same problem as me?

Default Re: Netgear HEAD TO HEAD with Linux (Linux won't get internet wi-fi with Netgear)

I find that unlikely. Windows and Linux share the same Internet protocols and the emulation programs are meant to replicate the protocol that the Windows programs use. You don't tell me enough however. You do not give me an error message or anything like that.

I know of parental control filters in some routers. Be assured that everyone is allowed to do anything on your network by default, and all users are given the same permission. It is possible it categorizes by the physical address and this may have been spoofed on Linux, for some reason.

It just looks like to me that Linux is registering different for some reason, the router is blocking it, I do not know, but it can not be a blocking tactic. They share the same protocols.
