I find that unlikely. Windows and Linux share the same Internet protocols and the emulation programs are meant to replicate the protocol that the Windows programs use. You don't tell me enough however. You do not give me an error message or anything like that.
I know of parental control filters in some routers. Be assured that everyone is allowed to do anything on your network by default, and all users are given the same permission. It is possible it categorizes by the physical address and this may have been spoofed on Linux, for some reason.
It just looks like to me that Linux is registering different for some reason, the router is blocking it, I do not know, but it can not be a blocking tactic. They share the same protocols.
