Default need help with ubuntu

i just put a clean ubuntu build on a Dell Dimension 4500(bought in 2002). the thing is i dont have the drivers i need for my machine and i cant get on the internet with that computer because my network card needs it's driver. i've found the drivers online, but so far i can only find .exe files which i know is not linux friendly. So my question is does anyone know what i should do about getting these drivers? do they come in .deb files or something, somewhere? should i try to install wine and open the .exe files with wine? im stuck! any help would be awesome thanks!

The driver is probably there already but if it isn't you will need to find a linux driver. Just running the .exe with wine will not work. Post the output of `lspci|grep -i eth`
