Linux XP supports the RPM package manager, so you should be able to go to Adobes site and download the second link, which is the RPM.

http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/downl...ShockwaveFlash

Save it and open up the terminal. Now change directory to the directory you saved it under.

Type in the following command:

Code:
sudo rpm –ivh flash-plugin-9.0.48.0-release.i386.rpm
I believe that should install the package with the Root privileges.

got the following error...
error: open of flash-plugin-9.0.48.0-release.i386.rpm failed: No such file or directory

probably because I didn't change directory. I'm a total noob when it comes to linux, so how do I change the directory?

you could just start over and download an easier to use distro e.g. one that doesn't need much fiddling unless you want to, Also one that responds to Sudo apt-get which will let you install any app or drivers easily
