Default need help creating a simple menu style installer

Here is what I am trying to accomplish; I have a series of musically themed open source programs that I wish to put on a cdr for my students. However, I want to create a simple menu style installer with a choice menu, that gives a brief description of each program when it is clicked upon, and where it will also ask if they wish to install that particular program. Is this easily accomplished? Could someone describe the process and suggest a program? Thanks in advance!

My suggestion would be to write an installer script, with a GTK or QT front-end. Sadly, I'm not very good in either, so I couldn't be of much help in actually writing said script or front-end.
