| I used Puppy and DSL when I was trying to run Linux on a few ancient Pentium machines. Other than that, you can do better for a modern liveCD distro. I still think Ubuntu is the best though (8.04). |

| The latest releases as well as a few of the more recent distros to come out like Zenwalk which is another small one see quite a bit more options. You still have to remember that Linux is an open source not locked OS to start with while still based on the UNIX platform in general. You can see distros run in virtual machine under Windows and some have been trying that with Windows on a Linux machine. There are a bit more Linux programs seen however in the last few years due to the growing popularity and demand there. |
