Default NDISWrapper on laptop without Internet connection

I have a laptop that I'm thinking about installing Ubuntu on. Currently runs only Windows 2000, but I'm using my Ubuntu Live CD to test it. However, the wireless networking card isn't detected. The card is a Buffalo WLI-CB-G54S and shows up as using the Broadcom Corporation BCM4318 [AirForce One 54g] 802.11g Wireless LAN Controller (rev 02) chip by doing 'lspci' in terminal. The laptop has no Ethernet connection, but it has CD-ROM, Floppy, and a USB port. I am looking for .deb packages that I can copy to a USB Flash Drive and install on it.

NEVER Ndiswrapper unless you ABSOLUTELY have to - it causes a lot of kernels to panic and do strange things, and I do not recommend it unless all other practical solutions have failed.

Read this:
Gentoo Forums :: View topic - Native Airport Extreme Drivers

It's a guide to compiling a kernel with BCM43xx support built in - if you don't feel comfortable doing that, let me know and I'll try to build one in DEB form for you.

I've never compiled anything for Linux...and that looks very confusing. If you don't mind, you could try compiling one. I'll check the repositories to see if there's anything there but probably not. If there is a .deb package, is it possible to run it on a live CD? I want to make sure it works before I install, because I have a lot of stuff on the laptop and it only has a 30GB hard drive. If I do install Ubuntu, it will be a dual boot with Windows 2000.

I do the same with a linksys card.
If you search for ubuntu ndiwrapper on google you will find ubuntu's package site with the debs there for download.

I looked under 'Edgy Eft' but the link must've been dead, and i could only find tar.gz files instead of .deb's
