Does a music notation software exist for Linux? Like the equivalent of Finale Notepad?

Brahms or Rosegarden. Music production is not at an ideal stage in Linux at this point in time, but something like notation is definitely doable.

there is an experimental lisp program for it, experimenting with McClim GUI library for lisp..

hope that's what you mean, as i have no experience whatsoever in music.
