Default multiple kernels?

is it true that it is possible to run multiple kernels "side-by-side"? If so how is/can this be done?

Other than having dual boot I don't see how or why you could have or want that...

side by side meaning what exactly?

you can create a new toolchain running a different kernel and chroot into that...........but running two kernels simultaneously?

Yeah, I've never heard of running two kernels simultaneously (unless by means of emulation, er something like that), but you CAN have two installed at the same time, as horndude said.

You can't run two at the same time for the OS, but you can have multiple kernels to boot from. You can easily set grub bootloader up to give you a choice between kernels.
