I have data on three different hard drives. I want all of this data on my windows xp hard drive so that I can easily organize and backup this data before I format and setup Gentoo to run on one of the drives, and XP to run on two of them.

I booted into knoppix, hoping that from knoppix i could easily copy over files. The problem is, I can't copy things from one hard drive to another. I'll post the exact error messages in a moment.

sry, this was probably the most embarrasing mistake i've made...
I tried copying and pasting the files in konqueror, and it gave me some rediculous error that noone would understand... so,

I su to root, then from the bash shell -

"cp /mnt/hda1/usr/share/media/text.exe /mnt/hde2/LINUX/media"

It told me that the files I was trying to copy to was read only.

I thought, omg, fish, you are stupid as ****...

I booted into windows, me media folder was "Read Only."

Problem is fixed now, thanks for reading.
