I can only seem to sign into an @hotmail.com email address under the Gaim or aMSN messengers for linux. I have my Gmail account registered with a passport.

I could use my gmail account when I was using Mandrake and had the Kopete messenger. The Gaim and aMSN messengers tell me that my email address/password are typed wrong, but I know that they are correct. Is there something I'm doing wrong, or a different messenger I could use that uses the MSN protocol?

Give this a try I use it on my linux box. It microsofts webmessenger you just need a webrowser no install.
